How to Find a Mentor for Your Business

San Antonio Career Coach | Business Coaching | Personal CoachingYour business is growing and you have been working many hours.  You are starting to feel alone and overwhelmed.  It may be a good idea to consider a mentor for your business.  A business mentor can share expert knowledge with you regarding the areas of business that you need guidance.  Here are ways to find a mentor for your business.

  • SCORE – This nonprofit association is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship.  To find a chapter near you visit www.score.org.
  • Reach out to your network.  Social media networks are good resources because you can view a potential mentor’s profile and determine if they would be a good fit for your business.
  • Who do you know that is already successful in business?  They will be able to share their success and challenges.

Choosing a mentor for your business can be time consuming, but well worth the time.  The benefits of working with a business mentor that can help you move your business forward out weighs the time spent to find the right mentor.

You are not alone.  There are many companies that are willing to share their success and help you achieve your business goals.  The mentor may have something they want to gain from the mentorship and welcome the opportunity to give back to the community.

    Hey E,

Thought of you as I read this mentor article. I’m thankful for having had the chance to work with you over the past year and I hope your work is going well.

Some of our experiences have helped at USAA; it’s funny how you never know what you’ll need to rely on until you realize you have it. If you’re available over the next few weeks, perhaps we’ll be touching base soon.

    Best,

    Jim
